ASTROLOGY TODAY AND TODAY'S ASTROLOGER

THE AWE & THE MYSTERY

Astrology was born the moment man looked up into the sky. Before written scriptures, before man could verbally communicate with each other, she noticed the sun, the moon, the fixed bodies in the sky, and the stars against the beautiful dark background. She/he was filled with wonder, delight, and a profound awe to gaze upon such an amazing sight. We're all reaching for our fullest potential.  What that might look & sound & feel like is a conversation that has been going on since the dawn of mankind.

But, no longer can we see what they saw.

Today, pollution has become a visible veil that prevents us from seeing clearly.
It has erased our ability to see what lies above us.
We are ‘in the dark’ even when the sun is out.  Think about what this means psychologically, spiritually, symbolically.

Heaven is slowly disappearing from our consciousness.

No longer can we see for ourselves, with patient naked eyes,
something which we know exists and once was seen by all - those
trillions of stars lighting up the night sky.

Think about it.

Meditate on it.

There’s something important here.

Those early observations of the heavens & the simultaneous events on earth became the early roots of astrology, the Original Science & prevailing philosophy of early man. Whether or not he intuited a cause and effect relationship is not important.  In our earliest minds what lies above and what lies below became intimately connected and remains so even today.

 As Above, So Below.

Most people when they think of astrology they think of the horoscope columns found in the media, their “daily dose of destiny” sings Mary Chapin Carpenter.   They always read them; some take them seriously, others laugh at the absurdity (?) of it all.  To most however, it seems to be an affront to our ego to be lumped in with all the others of the same zodiac sign.  The mind struggles to affirm one’s uniqueness and individuality.  A little known fact about those published columns is that the original intent was to increase newspaper sales!  Horoscope columns were never meant to be a source of information about astrology.   It’s sort of like comparing the Peanuts cartoon to Shakespeare. Still, they can still be uncannily correct.

I love to think of Astrology as a symbolic language, the binary system of the cosmos. Words, as we know them, can be very inaccurate.  Did you ever try
to verbally describe a sunset, an opera, or the birth of a child?  Can you learn to dance by reading a book?  A language that uses symbols, such as astrology is open to wider ranges of interpretation offering information that satisfies not only our linear mind, but our intuitive, holistic mind as well. Some might say that this leads to vagueness and lack of detail. However, those who have expanded consciousness have come to the realization that perception and attitude are uniquely personal.  It is up to each of us, independently to form our own interpretations and perspectives on the world. The astrologer acts simply as an interpreter providing a framework and a map for you in order for you to plan your life’s itinerary. And, because astrology can be considered a symbolic language, it provides a UNIVERSAL BASIS OF REFERENCE AND COMPARISON that does not recognize race, social class, religion, gender, political affiliations, or financial status.

Think of astrology as a Virtual Library of Information with guidance and support that covers every conceivable aspect of life on earth.  People, places, events, relationships, financial wealth, you name it and knowledge & wisdom is available from this alphabet in the sky.

What many do not realize is that astrology has a strong foundation in scientific theory.  It is more than myth.  The challenge is to recognize and understand truth when you see it. It has been clearly documented in scientific journals of the effects of the sun and moon on life here on earth.  The full moon is only one example of the connection between planetary movements and behavioral patterns of living beings.

Contemporary scientists are looking today at the effects of sunspot activity to the weather patterns here on earth. Sunspots are the result of changing conditions of planetary movements in the solar system. Atmospheric changes and the fluctuations of electro-magnetic energy all have an effect on our moods, behaviors, and actions.  These changing conditions all originate from the emanations from movement in our solar system.  Astrology can track these planetary movements and can serve as a “cosmic weather station” providing advance warning to periods of extreme waves of change both personally and globally.

To study and understand astrology is to understand yourself and the world around you.  Astrology enables you to see  both the reality and the illusion of your surrounding environment by shedding light on the dark corners of awareness.   As Above, So Below.  A Universal Rule. As Above, So Below, a repetition of the same patterns can be seen in all structures from the tiniest atom to the greatest unit of the cosmos.  To study the microcosm is to understand the macrocosm.  Quantum physics has proven that matter is made up mostly of empty space or ether, the same ‘element’ that exists in the solar system. This same element exists inside of us. When symbolism and myth become integrated with the science astrology becomes a mirror that reflects back to us aspects of ourselves, our culture, and our world. It gives us a big picture, a wider view than most of us dare to give ourselves.

Within astrology there is profound wisdom and transformational power that becomes revealed once one begins to look. Thankfully there are those out there who continue to follow the stars and promote truth using astrology.
