Ida Cullen has been providing inspirational and
educational programs integrating body, mind, and spirit since 1989. She is certified E-RYT500 by the Yoga Alliance,
their
highest level and holds a 500hr Professional Kripalu Yoga Teacher
Certificate. Other certifications include: Integrative Yoga
Therapy & Kripalu YogaDance. She has worked as a
professional astrologer
for over 30 years and has been a popular speaker at
international/national and state conferences since 1989. In 2002, Ida
opened The Sanctuary and began to offer personal sessions, group
classes, intensive workshops, and teacher-training programs as an
independent consultant.

Ida's
formal
education
includes
a BA in Psychology/Fine Art, after which she spent over 20
years working full time in the Real Estate industry. During her time in
real estate she combined her knowledge and skills of Feng Shui with
her cosmic knowledge of time-management and earned awards,
recognition, and offers to speak, teach, write and consult. Trained in
NLP,
intuitive by nature, and a trophy from Toastmasters provided confidence, experience, and exemplery communication skills. Her avocation as teacher began.
After
decades of practice in yoga and buddhist meditation,
in 1999 Ida entered formal training to become a yoga teacher. She moved
into Kripalu Center and began her studies in raja, karma, bhakti, and
hatha yoga. Today she continues to commute to Kripalu to volunteer, to
study, and to facilitate others. She remains a "work-in-progress"
Her
hobbies include everything musical. She plays the piano, harp,
tamboura, harmonium, and can usually keep a good beat with drum,
too. Sound and Music therapy are particular interests and she has
been experimenting with live harp in her classes and workshops.
Walking, hiking, biking are her preferred methods of transportation and
exercise. She lives her yoga which includes a simple, ayurvedic,
holistic diet and lifestyle.
In 2006, she became a grandmother.
